The 2024 Cultural Exchange Event between China and Foreign Countries - "Chinese Bridge" and China University of Petroleum (Beijing) jointly hold a summer camp in China
From July 1st to July 14th, 2024, three programs sponsored by the Sino Foreign Language Exchange and Cooperation Center and organized by China University of Petroleum (Beijing), including the Harbin Russian Chinese Bridge Joint Summer Camp, the Chinese Bridge Baku Higher Petroleum Institute Summer Camp in Azerbaijan, and the Chinese Bridge Confucius Institute Summer Camp at San Francisco University in Ecuador, will be held in Beijing. This event aims to deepen cultural exchanges between Chinese and foreign youth, promote academic cooperation, and strengthen mutual understanding and friendship. A total of 41 students and teachers from four countries and four universities participated in the project team.
At the opening ceremony, Yue Dali, dean of the School of International Education of China University of Petroleum (Beijing), welcomed the students from Russia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Ecuador to China. During the summer camp, students participated in a series of carefully planned activities, including Chinese language courses, Chinese martial arts experience, and traditional Chinese Paper Cuttings performances. In addition, the students also visited famous historical sites in Beijing, such as the Forbidden City, the Great Wall, and the Temple of Heaven, to gain a deeper understanding of China's history and culture.
The summer camp is carefully designed to seamlessly integrate Chinese knowledge and oil and gas professional knowledge, allowing students to understand the cultural connotations of China; On the other hand, understanding the profound historical and cultural heritage, disciplinary characteristics, and educational strength of our university has promoted cooperation and exchange in academic research between the two sides.
At the closing ceremony, the youth of the four countries shared what they had learned and seen during their time in China, showcasing their youthful style and the friendship between the two countries in different forms. Ecuador's passionate dance and moving song "Friends" fully reflect the friendship between the two peoples, and Russia's high pitched "Katyusha" has brought the friendship between the youth of the two countries closer The school presented "Oil Drop" ornaments and souvenirs to groups from four countries, hoping to bring back Chinese stories and voices to the students' hometowns through this oil trip.
Yue Dali, Dean of the School of International Education at China University of Petroleum (Beijing), stated that the successful hosting of the Chinese Bridge Summer Camp is the result of our joint efforts. It not only provides young students with an opportunity to learn and experience different cultures, but also builds a stage for them to showcase themselves and broaden their horizons. We look forward to strengthening exchanges, learning from each other, and growing together among young people from China and abroad through this summer camp.
Li Lingyun, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office of China University of Petroleum (Beijing), spoke at the closing ceremony, stating that the school has close cooperation with the four universities, which not only promotes academic exchanges but also deepens our friendship. The successful hosting of this summer camp in China not only provided students with profound knowledge and valuable experience, but also allowed them to deeply appreciate the profound cultural heritage and hospitable spirit displayed by China University of Petroleum. This experience greatly stimulated their enthusiasm and determination to learn Chinese and gain a deeper understanding of Chinese culture.
