2025 Summer Vacation Safety Precautions for College of International Education

Dear Students,

According to the academic calendar, the summer vacation for students in 2025 will begin on July 12. Please pay attention to the following safety reminders for the holiday period:

I. Vacation Schedule

All new students should register on time according to the admission notice. All students will start classes on September 15th.

Note: Before leaving campus, students must complete the form in the e-service system under "Report of Leaving or Staying on-campus ".

Students who stay on campus during the summer vacation should avoid returning late or staying out at night. In case of any special circumstances, please submit a report in advance through the E-service "Report of Leaving or Staying on-campus - Daily Leave School" regarding late return or staying out at night.

II. Safety Reminders

1. Dormitory Safety. Before departure, turn off all power switches, unplug electrical devices, and ensure windows and doors are securely locked. Conduct a thorough safety check to eliminate potential hazards. Keep valuables such as phones and laptops properly stored.

For students staying on campus: Comply with university regulations. No alcohol-related disturbances, open flames, or unauthorized electricity use. Prohibited: High-power appliances, electric bicycles (or batteries) in dormitories, hosting outsiders, transferring beds, or lending keys/access cards.

2.Transportation Safety. Maintain contact with family and update them on your whereabouts when traveling home, participating in social activities. Choose safe travel times, routes, and vehicles; travel in groups when possible. Follow traffic rules: Wear seatbelts, avoid unlicensed or overloaded vehicles, and refrain from drunk/drowsy driving. Avoid playing near roads or in vehicle blind spots. Check weather and traffic conditions in advance. Avoid overcrowded or undeveloped tourist sites to prevent accidents.

3.Food Safety. Check product labels (manufacturer, production date, expiry date, etc.). Choose fresh food and avoid expired or unlabeled products. Consume thoroughly cooked food; avoid spoiled or contaminated items. Be cautious of acute gastroenteritis in summer. Dine at hygienic establishments and avoid unlicensed vendors. Seek medical help immediately if feeling unwell.

4.Flood Prevention. Summer brings frequent thunderstorms, strong winds, and risks of floods, landslides, and mudslides. Set weather alerts and avoid outdoor activities during extreme conditions. Steer clear of hazardous areas (mountains, rivers, coastlines). Avoid swimming in unsupervised waters; only swim at licensed facilities with lifeguards. Prevent heatstroke by limiting prolonged exposure to high temperatures.

5.Beware of Scams. Stay vigilant against fraud (e.g., phishing, loan scams, job traps). Never disclose personal information (Passport number,ID numbers, bank details, verification codes) to strangers or unverified sources.

6.Mental Well-being. Use the vacation to relax and recharge. Engage in activities like reading, nature walks, or connecting with families/friends. If you encounter urgent mental healthy problems that you cannot handle on your own, please contact your teacher immediately for support. Beijing 24/7 Psychological Aid Hotline: 010-82951332

III. Additional Reminders

1.Residence Permit Validity. Pay attention to the expiration date of your residence permit and apply for an extension or temporary stay permit at the immigration office in a timely manner to avoid illegal residence in China, which may affect your studies and daily life.

2.Accommodation Registration. If you obtain a new passport, residence permit, or stay visa, you must complete the accommodation registration promptly. When traveling outside Beijing to other provinces or regions in China, make a accommodation registration in the local public security authorities in 24 hours. If you leave China and re-enter, report to 207 Office immediately to complete the necessary registration, students who live off campus also need to apply for the accomadation registration again.

During the vacation, balance rest and study, maintain a healthy lifestyle. Keep balance between work and rest, and a proper pace. Strengthen nutrition and physical exercise to enhance your physical condition. If you feel unwell physically or mentally, seek medical attention promptly.
